Marianne Chen

Marianne Chen Began studying cello at Juilliard Pre-College under Toby Saks, Michael Rudiakov, Channing Robbins and Jerome Carrington. He continued his studies at the Juilliard School under Lorne Munroe, earning "Bachelor's Degree" and also receiving the "Mu Phi Epsilon" award. He perfected under Maestro Antonio Janigro at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. For many years he studied Chamber Music with Robert Mann (Juilliard Quartet), with Alexander and Mischa Schneider (Budapest Quartet) and Felix Galimir. She also studied at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena where she obtained the Diploma of Merit. Marianne Chen has performed in major concert halls and festivals in the United States, Europe and Asia. She has recorded for Dynamic, Tactus and New Age, RAI and television networks, which included premieres of contemporary music. Marianne regularly gives master classes in Europe and the United States. Many of her students have won prizes in both national and international competitions. She has been a guest cello master at the Garden State Music Festival-New Jersey, Zephry Chamber Music Festival, The Gustav Mahler Academy in Bolzano, Scuola di Musica in Fiesole, Juilliard School, in Greece and Slovenia. Marianne is often invited as a member of juries in competitions such as the Vittorio Gui "International Chamber Music", "International Chamber Music Competition" in Pinerolo, "Trio Trieste" Prize and Arturo Toscanini International Conducting Competition.
Marianne Chen is professor of cello at the Higher Institute of Music in Modena.
